Compete On One of Alberta's Premier Tracks
As part of Alberta Diesel Day, you'll be competing on one of Alberta's premier tracks, Rad Torque Raceway, known for its exceptional facilities and passionate fans. It’s not just a race; it’s a celebration of diesel culture and performance.
Open to All Racers
The event caters to a wide range of classes and categories, ensuring that there’s a place for everyone from seasoned pros to first-time racers.
Safety Requirements
The vehicle must have:
- no fluid leaks
- secured battery
- working seat belts
- Driver has the proper helmet and attire.
- Final decision is made by the tech attendant on day of race.

Hot Rod Semi Class
- Heads-Up class (1/4 mile)
- 4/10ths Pro Tree
- Pro ladder by ET
- Lane choice by quickest ET
- Auto Start on ( 7 seconds)
- Vehicle must be legal to run 13.99 or faster to enter competition in this class
- Roll cage is mandatory on any truck running 13.99 (8.59) seconds or quicker. Roll cage configuration must follow Full Bodied configuration found in the NHRA Rulebook. Any truck running 13.99 (8.59) seconds and quicker must be inspected by NHRA and have a 2023 Exhibition Vehicle Rulebook Supplement 6 valid NHRA Sportsman Chassis Certification sticker affixed to the roll cage prior to participation, on a two-year interval. Tubing size: Hot Truck: 1 3/4-inch x .095-inch chromoly only Stock Truck: 1 5/8-inch x .083-inch chromoly; or 1 5/8-inch x .118-inch mild steel.
- This category is reserved for 18-wheeler, class 8 truck, over-the-road-type trucks only.
- Body must resemble a class 8 truck. Can be original or replica. Must have cab, hood, and grill. (Hood must at least cover the top of the engine completely )
- Engine, transmission, and differential must be from a class 8 truck. (Minimum 9.6 litter engine or bigger). Any internal modifications permitted. Nitrous oxide, Supercharger, turbochargers, water injection, etc.
- Nitrous bottles may not be in drivers compartment.
- Engine must in front of firewall and engine set back not to be greater than 12 inches from center of front axle.
- Factory class 8 truck frame rails only. Minimum 1/4 inch thick and 9 1/2 inch wide.
- Tire minimum front, 19.5 tubeless. Wheels must be OEM and not modified and for use on class 8 truck
- Tire minimum rear must be class 8 rated and can be slicks. Wheels must be 22.5 or 24.5 OEM and not modified.
- Body must resemble a class 8 truck. Can be original or replica. Must have cab, hood, and grill. (Hood must cover the top of the engine completely)
- Windshield, door window OEM safety glass or Lexan or Plexiglas replacement permitted
- Batteries must be securely mounted; may not be in driver’s compartment.
- Drivers in trucks running 13.99 (8.59) seconds or quicker must wear a jacket meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/1.
- Four-wheel hydraulic or air brakes mandatory. Air brake systems must have sufficient air-tank capacity to always maintain minimum 65 psi of pressure. Dual air line maxi chambers required for air brakes.
- Stock-type suspension required. Must be beam-type axle with leaf springs. Class 8 truck rated
- Any Tube Chassis are prohibited
- All exhaust must exit up and away from race vehicle with (2) 5/16 grade 5 bolts at 90 degrees to each other within 1inch of each other and within 4 inches from exhaust house flange.
- Auto Trans reverse lockout and neutral safety required on Auto Trans. All Auto trans must have tranny blanket
- Liquid overflow required
- Working taillight required. Flashing ,blinking , or strobe lights prohibited
- Drive line loop required
- Helmet meeting Snell M2015, M2020, SA2015, SA2020 or SFI 31.1/2015, 31.1/2020, 41.1/2015 or 41.1/2020
- 3inch driver restraint system meeting SFI Spec 16.1 or two inch meeting SFI Spec. 16.5, including crotch strap, mandatory
- Master electrical cutoff required if battery is moved from non-OEM position. (Cutoff must be located at the rear of the vehicle and outside of the body
Street (Stock) Semi Class Rules
- Stock street truck registered and insured
- Stock rpm so not more than 2200rpm
- Stock OEM turbo or turbos if OEM
- Stock tires
- Safety belt and helmet mandatory
Super Street (Modified) Semi Class Rules
- Street tires
- Seat belts
- Helmet
- No rules about engine, suspension and turbocharged
- If goes under 12.99 needs a roll cage
- No rules about nitrous or water
- No propane allowed at ALL

Racer & Crew FAQ
Racers can register by visiting our website and navigating to the “Get Tickets” button. Select the driver option and complete the form. Submit your registration fee of $65, and you’re all set!
The $65 registration fee grants you access to the race events, pits, dedicated racer areas, and pre-event testing opportunities.Â
Yes, all participating vehicles must follow the class rules and pass a safety inspection based on our event guidelines to ensure a safe racing environment for everyone. Detailed safety requirements will be provided upon registration.
Crew tickets can be purchased through our ticket website by navigating to the “Crew Registration” section. Crew tickets are priced at $25, + processing fee.
Crew tickets provide access to the pit area and racer-exclusive zones, allowing crew members to support their racers throughout the event. Please note crew tickets include access to full event.
To ensure a safe and manageable environment for all participants, there is a limit of 2 crew tickets available per registered racer. Please contact us directly for the most current information.
