What is the Burnout Competition?

The Burnout Competition is one of the most anticipated parts of the event — where drivers push their builds to the limit in front of a live crowd.

This isn’t just about smoke. It’s about:

  • power
  • control
  • showmanship
  • and putting on a performance

Whether you’re running a diesel, gas, or full custom build, this is your chance to stand out.

How It Works

Competition Format:

  • Each competitor gets a timed burnout run
  • Judged on:

    • Smoke output
    • Crowd engagement
    • Style and control
    • Overall performance

Burnout Competition Rules & Regulations

1. Driver Requirements

  • All drivers must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • All participants must sign a waiver before competing

2. Vehicle Requirements

  • All vehicles must pass a basic safety inspection
  • No fluid leaks (oil, coolant, fuel)
  • Battery must be securely mounted
  • Throttle must return properly
  • Vehicles must have secure wheels and lug nuts

Allowed Vehicles:

  • Gas and diesel vehicles
  • Trucks, cars, and custom builds

3. Safety Requirements

  • Seatbelt required at all times
  • Helmet recommended (mandatory for higher-powered builds if you want to enforce this)
  • Windows up or down (your call, but be consistent)
  • No passengers allowed

Automatic disqualification for:

  • Unsafe driving
  • Leaving the burnout area
  • Ignoring staff direction

4. Burnout Area Rules

  • Burnouts must stay within the designated burnout pad
  • No forward movement outside marked area
  • No intentional damage to barriers or surroundings
  • Judges and staff decisions are final

5. Time Limit

  • Each competitor gets [30–60 seconds]
  • Time starts when burnout begins
  • Drivers must stop when instructed

6. Judging Criteria

Each competitor will be judged on:

Smoke Output

  • Volume and consistency of smoke

Control

  • Ability to maintain position and control vehicle

Style & Showmanship

  • Crowd engagement
  • Overall performance

Overall Impression

  • How memorable the run is

7. Disqualification Rules

You will be immediately disqualified for:

  • Leaving the burnout area
  • Hitting barriers or unsafe driving
  • Ignoring staff instructions
  • Mechanical failure that creates a hazard
  • Any behaviour deemed unsafe by event staff

8. Mechanical Failure

  • If your vehicle fails during your run, your attempt ends
  • No re-runs unless approved by judges (optional)

9. Fire & Safety Response

  • Fire extinguishers and safety crew will be on-site
  • Drivers must exit vehicle immediately if instructed

10. Respect & Conduct

This is a high-energy event, but respect is mandatory.

  • No reckless or dangerous behaviour outside the competition
  • Respect staff, other competitors, and the venue

Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in removal from the event

You can register the day of the event, but we strongly recommend pre-registering to secure your spot. Spaces are limited and this competition fills up quickly.

This competition is diesel-only.

We welcome:

  • Diesel trucks

  • Custom diesel builds

Entry is $65 per vehicle.

Yes — there is a limited number of competitor spots available.

Once we reach capacity, registration will close. Pre-registration is the best way to guarantee your place in the competition.

Yes. All vehicles must pass a basic safety check before being allowed to compete.

If your vehicle becomes unsafe or cannot continue, your run will be stopped. Re-runs are at the discretion of the judges.

No — drivers only are allowed in the vehicle during the competition.

We recommend bringing:

  • A valid driver’s license

  • Basic tools

  • Extra tires

  • Safety gear

Yes, but each vehicle must be registered separately and will require its own entry fee.
