Super 66 Drag Race Class

The Super 66 Drag Race Class was created for diesel truck owners who want competitive, heads-up racing without extreme builds or complicated safety requirements.

This is a spec turbo class designed to keep racing affordable, fair, and exciting. With an 11.50 ET cap in the quarter mile, the Super 66 class allows competitors to race without a roll bar or roll cage, making it one of the most accessible drag racing classes at Alberta Diesel Day.

The focus is simple: close racing, consistent rules, and a level playing field.

Class Protest/Rule Infringement

Turbo Protest ($500):

  • Any racer may protest another racer’s turbo if they believe it was modified away from it’s original spec.  The protest fee is $500 and must be paid to class tech immediately when protest is made.  The racer with the protested turbo must remove it completely from the truck under the supervision of class tech and fully inspected/measured by the class tech.  If the turbo passes inspection/measuring and is deemed legal, the protested racer gets to keep the turbo and the $500 for the removal/installation of said turbo.
  • If the turbo is found to be modified or altered in anyway the protested racer is immediately disqualified from competition.  The illegal turbo is confiscated by class tech and the protested competitor no longer has a turbo.  The $500 is then returned back to the racer who initiated the rule infringement protest.

General Rule Protest ($500):

  • Any racer may protest class rules being broken by another racer.  The protest fee is $500 and must be paid to class tech immediately when protest is made.  Class tech will perform a full inspection of the protested racer based on class general rules.  If the protested racer is found to have broken class rules they will be immediately disqualified from the race and the $500 protest fee will be returned to the protester.  If the protested racer is proven to have NOT broken any rules, they receive the $500 protest fee for their troubles.
